Well, generally, you will notice that as the caller starts calling out numbers for you to tick off on your bingo card, people become quiet and at this point, it would be quite rude to carry on loud conversations as this might be a form of distraction to the business at hand. Also, regulars at certain bingo halls have certain seats that they claim bring them luck. You would be right to not stand in their way. Just find any other seat especially, if you’re new to that place. It saves a lot of trouble!
It’s a general behavior requirement to not repeat aloud the numbers that are called out even if you’re just repeating it to yourself. It can cause confusion to the person next to you. There are bingo centers that allow you to bring kids along but you have to make sure that they are at their best behavior. Running around and screaming is not something that would be tolerated. In some places, there are activities for the kids but if there isn’t, you might want to bring along things for them to do as you know kids left idle will definitely start getting into trouble.
If you have lost or have been losing, do not yell out your frustration at the bingo caller. Even if you have problems hearing the caller, it’s still rude to yell. So, you can politely ask him or her to speak louder. Don’t be too quick to yell out Bingo unless you’re absolutely sure. If it happens once too often, you will become like the boy who yelled wolf and people will start ignoring you and get pretty annoyed at your presence.
In many bingo halls, smoking is not allowed and you can usually do it outside or in specially designated areas. You have to respect this rule especially in centers with senior
citizens who are health conscious. While all these basic etiquettes are common sense, you would be surprised how many people forget them as they get carried away with entering an exciting bingo hall or if they themselves start winning. Playing bingo is a very nice way to spend time and by following these bingo etiquettes, you can make sure that you can make many lifelong friends and become a regular at your favorite bingo centers, as well.
